Unconfirmed reports of iPhone on Verizon network by end of summer

May 11, 2010

According to a CrunchGear.com article posted today Verizon may get the iPhone by the end of summer.  The reports swirl around an advertising company called Landor Associates who is said to be working right now on collateral for the iPhone HD forVerizon.

Another technology site confirmed today that AT&T and Apple have a 5 year contract which is set to expire in 2012.  The reporter confirmed the five year term by going through court documents based on a class-action lawsuit in 2007.

So, if the rumors are true it is likely that Apple has broken the contract and will pay any associated penalties.  It would make sense for Apple to do so as we reported days ago that more than 50% of Verizon customers would likely switch to an iPhone if available.
