Taiwan manufacturer to ship Verizon iPhone 4 in time for Christmas

After waiting on hold for more than 3 hours with Apple, we were informed that their pre-order system has crashed!  According to the phone rep, no one has been able to order the new iPhone yet this morning. She suggested calling back later in the afternoon.
